Closed Lost Reporting
SOLVE
We need to track the reasons for Closed Lost deals and I do not see a dashboard option or a report which tracks this issue. How can I setup a way for our leadership to track this information within HubSpot?
Thanks!

Closed Lost Reporting

Hi @AlexaLandrum,
This can be done with a custom report: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/reports/create-custom-reports
Specifically, it's easiest to create a single object report: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/reports/create-custom-single-object-reports?hubs_content=knowledge.hub...
Choose deal as a data source, then follow these steps:
- Under Filters in the top left corner, adjust the date range to your liking (I typically choose all data / all time)
- Add an additional filter for Deal stage is any of [your closed lost stage(s)]
- In the Visualization tab, use the left sidebar and use the blue hyperlink for 'Data step' to add your property where you track the closed lost reason
- Drag and drop the closed lost reason and the Count of deals into the Displaying area
It should look like this:
That's already it. Pick your preferred chart type and save the report.
If your closed lost reason is a free text field (that's how HubSpot has it as a default), the report cannot group by reasons. You would have to edit the property type to a dropdown or, if it is in use already, create a new dropdown reason field.
Let me know if you have any follow-up questions!
