This was a fun group of AI experts and enthusiasts to share a panel with in Boston last Friday discussing engaging third party AI service providers. Many thanks to ACC Northeast - Association of Corporate Counsel for the opportunity and Microsoft’s Burlington offices for hosting. CC: Beth E. ABOUT JUNETEENTH‼️ Diverse Tech Law’s inaugural Juneteenth event—Convos, Kicks and co*cktails— was all we could have hoped for and was a VIBE‼️ We want to thank all who attended (or purchased a ticket believing in our mission). For those who couldn’t make it, here’s the recap:The Convos: Our emcee, Ken Alce, talked to us about the importance of Juneteenth at this juncture in tech’s evolution and how much our legacies as lawyers depend on what we do now as we confront a new frontier. He also admonished us that we are each stars, and encouraged us to spend the evening connecting with other stars, enabling us to collectively shine brighter. Attendees then heard from two panels featuring dynamic thought leaders from Tier 1 tech companies:Panel 1–moderated by recent Howard University School of Law alumna Amma Boateng, J.D. (also Nicholas Austin and I’s former student)— featured Erin Perugini (Bloomberg Law) Chibundu N. (Google), Dwight G. (Meta). They shared a little about how younger attorneys and attorneys outside tech can break into the field, skill sets and areas of focus to consider to be attractive for many opportunities, and broke down the art of networking.Panel 2–moderated by Amanda Allen—featured tech execs Joseph Breda (Bloomberg Law) and Joe Briggs, Esq. (Amazon) who discussed their journeys into tech, their perspectives on executive leadership, and the importance of incorporating diverse perspectives while building products and enterprises. The Kicks:The sneakers folks wore ranged from modest to flashy to EXCLUSIVE🔥🔥🔥🔥 We had a first (to us) of its kind “Kick Off” hosted by Hamilton Martin which gave the top two crowd favorites a gift card to Foot Locker. The co*cktails (and socializing):🤐 🤝🔈🎉 💃🏾 🕺🏿 🪩. Let’s just say the DJ helped us pay homage to our ancestors and the culture as some of us celebrated through music and dancing. We’re trying to build community in a unique way—one that truly seeks to welcome ALL attorneys in or interested in tech. And if you don’t see yourself or an important perspective reflected in what we’re building, we welcome you to help us change that. For those already established in your tech legal careers, and struggle to prioritize opportunities to connect with the next generation- remember that SUCCESS is most meaningful when it is concerned about SUCCESSION. Thanks again to our lead sponsor—Bloomberg Law—and our other sponsors (, ClickGUARD and CalebAndonian PLLC) for pouring into the next generation of attorneys in tech. Because of you dozens of law students had the opportunity to have critical exposure, and at no cost to them.Shout out to the host committee: Joe Briggs, Esq., Nicholas Austin, Chibundu N., Hamilton Martin, Ken Alce, Dwight G., Colin C. Don’t forget to follow Diverse Tech Law to be in the loop about future events and valuable resources we’ll share.

NVIDIA is on FIRE 🔥 🔥 🔥 and the type of wood that keeps it raging—AI—continues to be added. News hit yesterday that NVIDIA surpassed Apple in market cap (over 3 Trillion) for the number 2 spot, now only second to Microsoft. 🤯NVIDIA already dominates the AI chip space by accounting for more than 70% of overall chip sales and is responsible for accelerating gen AI tools such as facial and speech recognition, as well as foundation models such as Chat GPT. And with its new GPUs (AI chips Rubin and Blackwell) announced, NVIDIA's continued dominance seems apparent. But thats not it--A brand-new Fenwick-Bloomberg Law 2024 SV150 List (just published today) tracking the top 150 public Silicon Valley-based tech/life sciences companies by 2023’s revenue highlights that the AI chip giant displaced chief rival Intel Corporation for the number #4 spot and did so by leaping from the #14 spot just a year prior. That’s pretty tough to do that high up the list. NVIDIA beat Q1 estimates and is poised to double its revenue this year, making it competitive for the #3 spot, currently held by Meta.Read my full analysis on why I believe this dominance—hitched to AI—feels unicornish, and why I believe at least one regulatory hurdle may be a non-issue.https://lnkd.in/e_W4_v2s
